If the child is in Australia

Permanent (Child) (Subclass 802)

Onshore children of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or qualifying New Zealand citizen are eligible for this permanent visa.

(permanent) Orphan Relative (Subclass 837)

This visa is for children whose parents have died, become permanently disabled, or whose whereabouts are unknown, and who have a suitable sponsor in Australia, such as a relative.

Visa for a Minor Dependent (Subclass 445)

For children whose parent is in the process of acquiring a permanent partner visa.

If the child is outside Australia

Permanent (Child) (Subclass 802)

This permanent visa is for children or stepchildren of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.

(Permanent) Orphan Relative (Subclass 117)

This permanent visa is for children from outside Australia who have a qualifying sponsor in Australia, such as a relative, and whose parents are deceased, permanently incapacitated, or whose whereabouts are unknown.

(Permanent) Adoption (Subclass 102)

This permanent visa is for international children who have been or are about to be adopted by an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent visa holder, or an eligible New Zealand citizen.

Important Note: If the kid was adopted before the parents became Australian citizens, holders of permanent visas in Australia, or eligible New Zealand citizens, they should apply for a Child visa instead (subclass 101)

Visa for Dependent Children (Subclass 445)

This is a temporary visa for children whose parent has a temporary partner visa and is applying for a permanent partner visa.

Non-New Zealand citizens may travel to and live in Australia with a special category visa-holding New Zealand citizen family member.

(Offshore) Remaining Relative Visa (Subclass 115)

This permanent visa allows persons from outside Australia to visit their brothers, sisters, or parents, who are usually Australian residents and are their only close relatives.
